The timetable for the election is now available. Nomination papers will need to be delivered to Wiltshire Council between the 16th March and the 4th April.
Thursday May 4th will see an ‘all out’ election for the parish council. Every serving councillor has to stand for election and, of course, any other qualifying resident can stand too. Following the decision made by Wiltshire Council in July, to transfer some 200 houses from Hilperton to Trowbridge, the parish council considered its position. It agreed to seek legal advice and this was received from both a solicitor and counsel. Following this a Letter Before Action was sent to Wiltshire Council. A reply was received [...]
Over the next few weeks, all houses in the parish should see an A4 size ‘brown envelope’ drop through their letterbox!! It will contain a parish council newsletter and, more importantly, a Housing Needs Survey from Wiltshire Council. The next parish council meeting is at 7.30pm on Tuesday the 18th March in the small meeting room, above the village hall in Whaddon Lane. All are welcome, but anyone choosing to speak must register with the clerk, and speak before the meeting formally opens.
